Special Potato Soup From the kitchen of Granddaddy Mouse
6 - 7 medium potatoes
1/2 to 3/4 stick of butter
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of celery soup
1 medium onion finely chopped
1 1/2 cup of milk
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 8 oz package cream cheese
salt and pepper to taste
In a large saucepan, cook potatoes and onion in enough water to cover on medium heat until tender.
Add cubes of cream cheese.
Remove from the heat and stir until all the cheese is melted.
Add your canned soups, butter and spices.
Serve piping hot and just before serving, top with shredded cheddar cheese, bacon bits, and/or chopped green onion tops.
(You may substitute margarine and low fat soups to lower your fat and calories)
