Quick Lasagna

1 pound of ground beef
1 can (8oz) tomato sauce
1 can (6oz) tomato paste
1 1/2 cups of water
1 package (1 1/2oz) dry onion soup mix
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or salt
1/2 teaspoon of salt
Dash of pepper
1/2 teaspoon sugar
10 pieces of lasagna noodles, cooked
1 pound of cottage cheese or (ricotta)
3/4 pound grated Mozzarella cheese

While noodles are cooking brown the ground beef in a skillet. Drain off all but 2 tablespoons of grease. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, soup mix, seasonings and sugar to the ground beef. Pour into a bowl, cover with wax paper and put it into the microwave oven. Microwave on high for 6 to 8 minutes or until boiling. Stir halfway through cooking. Microwave on low (30%) for 10 minutes to blend flavors.

Place alternate layers of noodles, cottage cheese, sauce and Mozzarella cheese in an 11 3/4 X 7 1/2 X 1 3/4 inch baking dish, ending with sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Cover with wax paper. Then Microwave on high for 10 to 12 minutes or until heated through. Allow 5 to 10 minutes before serving. Recipe services 6 to 8 servings.

** Lasagna can be made through the mixing stage right before you start alternating layer then refrigerated up to 2 days. Allow an additional 5 minutes cooking time.
